Online Exhibit: Petals on a Wet Black Bough: American Modernist Writers and the Orient

This is the online version of an exhibit held at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University. The original exhibit was held October 18-December 20, 1996. The online exhibition has two major thematic divisions: American Nineteenth-Century representations of China and Japan, and Twentieth-Century writers' interpretations of those influences.
