Tuskegee Airmen Symposium

News has arrived from the Pacific Aviation Museum that the Tuskegee Airmen Symposium will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2012. It will be in the Museum Theater 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The event is free to Museum members and included in the price of general admission for non-members.

Honoring the African-American aviators of WWII, speakers and panelists will present stories of the “Red Tails” including:

Dr. Dorothy Goldsborough, University of Hawaii Manoa

Tuskegee Airman Phillip Baham

MSgt Chandra Mark, president, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

Artis-Baham-Goldsborough (Hawaii) Chapter

LtCol Brian Hill, Commander, 99th Air Refueling Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam

Red Tail the documentary film will be shown.

“Their goal was to prove that Black men could fly and fight as well as any other American. But their first battle was to fight for the most basic human rights of dignity and respect. With their aircraft tails painted red to identify themselves as the “Red Tails,” they carried the hopes and dreams of 13 million African-American countrymen into battle.”
